Galβ Ligands

Galactose (Galβ) ligands can be used to target drugs to hepatocytes in the liver, by exploiting the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR). ASGPR has a high affinity for Gal-containing ligands. Therapeutic payloads can be directly conjugated to Gal ligands or encapsulated in nanoparticles decorated with Gal ligands.

Terminal Galβ ligands are substrates for glycosyltransferases, such as sialyltransferases and N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases.

We provide Galβ ligands with various functional linkers depending on their intended use.
