Core Glycan: Core 2 glycan is one of 4 core structures of O-GalNAc glycans of mucins. The Core 2 glycan structure is an extension of Core 3 by N-acetylglucosamine β1,6 branching and is catalyzed by three different core2 β1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase-1–3 (C2GnT-1–3).. Changes in levels of any one of these transferases may indicate celular malignancy.
