Description Immunoglobulin A (IgA1) tryptic peptide:synthetic Hinge Region peptide fragment (His89-Arg126; UniProt position 89-126, aa length 38) with glycosylation (α-GalNAc) at Ser111(Tn antigen). The C-terminus is an amide. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is the most abundantly produced antibody with an important role in mucosal immunity. Occurring in two structurally and functionally distinctive subclasses (IgA1 and IgA2), aberrant O-glycosylation in the hinge region of IgA1 plays a key role in the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy (IgAN).
