Description IgA1 (UniProt ID P01876) synthetic Hinge Region peptide fragment (Val103-Ser121; UniProt position 103-121, aa length 19) with glycosylation (α-GalNAc) at Thr109, Ser111 and Ser113. The C-terminus is an amide. The hinge region (HR) of IgA1 contains two octapeptide repeats with multiple Pro, Ser, and Thr residues and 3 to 6 O-glycan chains consisting of N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) that may also carry galactose (Gal) and/or sialic acid (Neu5Ac). Abnormal HR glycosylation results in IgA nephropathy (IgAN), the most common primary glomerulonephritis and an important cause of end-stage renal disease.
