Pseudaminic Acid (Pse) is a sialic acid-like saccharide first found in the LPS of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (1984). Also observed in several other organisms including the gastrointestinal pathogens Helicobacter pylori and Campylobacter jejuni. Pse is thought to influence pathogenesis through bacterial adhesion, invasion, and immune evasion.
