PEGylated glycosides are multi-purpose, functionalized products that enable researchers to modify macromolecules, surfaces and nanostructures with carbohydrates via simple polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker systems. PEG linkers are amphiphilic and unlikely to undergo hydrophobic interactions with proteins and other surfaces. Sussex PEGylated Glycosides may also be important materials for use as carbohydrate carriers in glycotherapeutic applications, drug carriers for site specific delivery, drug enhancers for decreasing toxicity and solubility and protein enhancers. Virtually any carbohydrate may be carried by PEG.
