Sussex Research is a specialist in carbohydrate synthetic chemistry. Development of novel human vaccines and therapeutic agents against infectious and autoimmune diseases as well as cancer in laboratories at the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada has resulted in extensive expertise that relate to synthetic and biomedical applications of carbohydrates and glycoconjugate materials. Sussex Research is a privately-held chemistry focused company leading in the design and manufacture of Advanced Glycosylation products and synthesis solutions for biopharmaceutical, diagnostic and research applications. The company specializes in carbohydrate and glycosylation chemistry, and is developing proprietary strategies and products designed to (1) overcome problems associated with the synthesis of carbohydrate-based molecules and glycoconjugate vaccines, (2) enhance the properties of therapeutics and (3) improve targeting, transport, solubility and stability of synthetic therapeutic molecules such as small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides. Sussex Research, a spin-off of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, is housed at the NRC Industry Partnership Facility within NRC's research facility (right) at 100 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, Canada.
